Accessibility Statement

1. Introduction and objective

The Hotel SANDHOF strives to make its website accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Act (BaFG) implementing EU Directive 2019/882. Our goal is to provide all users—regardless of their individual abilities or technical requirements—with the most unrestricted access possible to the information and offers on our website.

The accessibility requirements are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA.

2. Status of compliance with requirements

This website is currently partially compliant with the applicable accessibility requirements. We are continuously working to identify existing barriers and gradually eliminate them.

3. Non-accessible content

As part of an internal accessibility check, various content areas were tested for digital accessibility. The following deficiencies were identified:

  • Missing alt texts
  • Headlines not in the correct order
  • Language switch does not meet the minimum size of 44px
  • Text links do not meet the minimum height of 44px
  • Link elements are not keyboard-focusable
  • Line height sometimes below 1.5
  • Header: The H4 “header-text” is empty
  • Slider navigation: low contrast between navigation and images

4. Justification for deviations

Some accessibility measures require a very high level of technical and editorial effort. In these cases, implementation currently represents a disproportionate burden within the meaning of Section 8 of the BaFG.

5. Creation and review process

This statement was created on November 10, 2025, based on an internal short audit. The review was carried out on the basis of the criteria of WCAG 2.1, Level AA, taking into account content, technical, and design aspects.

6. Feedback and contact

If you discover any barriers on our website or have any suggestions for improving digital accessibility, we would be happy to receive your feedback.
