Delicious & panoramic

Hikes to huts and alps

Whether you’re hiking to a hut with the family or making a rest stop after a strenuous mountain tour, if you want to get to know all the huts and alps of the hiking world of Lech Zürs and sample all the culinary treats, you will need several days.

Our suggestions & recommendations:

  • Bodenalpe (1,430 m): the Bodenalpe was established 400 years ago and enchants today with its particularly beautiful architecture and great ambiance. You must try the Gröstel and the steaks here.
  • Kriegeralpe (1,997 m): dairy farming takes place on the Kriegeralpe in summer with butter, curd, cream and alp cheese produced in the alp’s own alpine dairy. The Kässpätzle are highly recommended and you can get the best Kaiserschmarren here.
  • Rud Alpe (1,560 m): families can easily reach this destination via the Arlenzauberweg from the Oberlech mountain station. There’s a water playground and a petting zoo for the children while the parents can enjoy the sun and the views on the terrace.
  • Auenfeldhütte (1,762 m): the Auenfelder Hütte is also known as the Knödelhütte (‘dumpling hut’). The rustic mountain inn is situated amidst the impressive nature of the Hochtannberg. The hut is accessible by pram and is the starting point for hikes onto the Mohnenfluh or Karhorn. It is located on the themed trail.
  • Göppinger Hütte (2,245 m): this hut is on the Gamsboden, a unique high plateau between the Upper Lechtal and the Grosse Walsertal. You will find the peace of nature here far away from the noise and hustle and bustle. Accessible from Lech via the “Unteres Älpele” and “Märchenwiese” or on a hut hike via Oberlech and the Kriegeralpe.
  • Stuttgarter Hütte (2,310 m): the view from the hut high above Zürs on the Krabachjoch is truly amazing. Accessible from Lech via Rüfikopf, Monzabonjoch, Ochselgümpelkar and Rauhekopfscharte.

Collecting points for the Arlberg hiking pin!

The Arlberg hiking pin is both a piece of memorabilia and a trophy. The Arlberg hiking pass, with 48 destinations and hikes in the Lech Zürs region, was established in the summer of 2020. Every destination reached, be it hut or summit, is rewarded with points. Having reached a certain number of points, you receive a hiking pin (from bronze to gold). The points are collected via a smartphone app – a digital hiking passport.
